The Ultimate climbing challenge where every move counts.

Welcome to Send Fest!

Only the strongest strategy will prevail.

Our annual climbing competition and community festival is back for another round! This inclusive event welcomes everyone, from beginners to seasoned climbers, with competition categories tailored for all ages and skill levels. Join us for a day of friendly competition, explore local vendors, enter to win amazing raffle prizes, and celebrate the wonderful ClimbCap community.

Competitors are divided into three categories based on experience, with subcategories based on age (so, you’re competing against others on your level!).

Each category has twelve routes with grade levels varying according to skill level.

Climb as many as you can, but fall twice, and you must move on to your next route.

The winners are determined by those with highest point reached without falling OR fastest completion time (if both finish the route).

How does it work?

How are falls counted?

If a climber SENDS the route on their first attempt, they are awarded the full point value of the climb (plus bonus points on “flash challenge” routes - see details below).

If the climber FAILS their first attempt, they may attempt the route a second time.

If they send the route on their second attempt, they will be awarded half of the point value of the climb (no flash bonuses).

If the climber FAILS their second attempt, they will list 0 points to their scorecard for that particular climb and may move on to their next climb.

Wait, what’s the festival part of Send Fest?

Don’t want to compete?

We got you.

Spectators are welcome to attend for free and encouraged to come cheer on competitors!

There will also be climbing challenges, interactive activities, and a range of vendors for all attendees to peruse and partake.

FAQ’s

  • Nope! Competition categories & scorecards based on both age AND climbing experience. So, you will be competing against others at your skill level.

  • Yes! You have 2 attempts before you must lower and move on to your next chosen route. Each fall until you hit 2 deducts from that route’s total point worth.

  • Each grade incorporates Soft, Medium, and Hard levels to reflect subtle difficulty differences. Route point worth depends on route difficulty.

After completing the 12 routes, total points earned will be calculated.

Special "Flash Challenge" routes will be set before the event, and will award you up to bonus points.

  • If multiple climbers have the same score, they will enter a Climb-Off:
A designated tiebreaker route will determine the winner.

    The winner is determined by:

    • Highest point reached without falling or

    • Fastest completion time (if both finish the route).

  • New Routes that are set the day before the event and cannot be practiced in advance.
Successfully completing a New Route on your first attempt earns bonus points.

  • You can select any route in your category, in any order.

  • We can help connect solo climbers with others looking for a partner!

    • Select “Solo” when registering, and we’ll do our best to match you with a fellow competitor.

  • Competitors bring:

    • Gear is included with registration, but feel free bring your own!

    • Water and snacks to stay fueled.

    • A game plan—every move counts!

While the walls are for competitors from 8 AM - 4 PM, spectators are welcome to bring climbing gear to use following the competition. Other than that, good attitudes required only. :-)

    • Start with routes you feel confident flashing to build your score before attempting harder climbs.

    • Take your time, don’t rush into a climb without planning your moves.

    • Stay focused, one slip can make all the difference.

  • Sure is! Gear is included with registration. Feel free to bring your own if you please.
